In their latest video work The opening Pépé Smit & Harm van den Berg explore the concept of looking at art. Through a hole in a mirror a video loop shows a parallel world that reflects the idea of an exhibition space during an art opening. Although the work is recursive and self-referential, it intersects with reality. By visiting the opening of The opening the spectator will literally become part of the work.
